What is a digital executor?

Define digital executor responsibilities: access, closure, and communication — and how Legacy guardians and circle roles relate (not legal advice).

A digital executor is the person (or role) tasked with carrying out your wishes for online accounts and digital property. Some jurisdictions recognize this formally; others rely on general estate law — terminology is not universal.

In Legacy OS, guardians and circle members operationalize access and delivery inside the product. That is not automatically the same title as “executor” under your local probate code — align names and documents with your lawyer.

Write the handover

Leave a one-page “start here” in your Playbook: priority order, passwords policy (prefer vault + manager), and who to call first for human decisions.
